What is a Care Team?

It is a small group of volunteers working together to provide practical, emotional and spiritual support to elderly or disabled individuals who may not be able to remain at home without assistance from others.

How is a Care Team formed?

Existing groups within a church, such as home groups, Bible studies, Sunday school classes, etc. are a good place to start.   Several couples who know each other and want to serve together can form a Care Team.

What does a Care Team do?

The team’s activities may include transportation to the doctor or grocery store, meals, household or yard chores, running errands, visitation, etc.  Care Teams do not provide medical or personal care, or financial assistance.

Why use a Care Team approach?

The team approach gives volunteers maximum flexibility, a built-in support system and the opportunity to offer a variety of skills.
